Hagerstown Trip
Monday, December 7th, 2009
PIA was represented at a familiarization tour of the Hagertown Regional Airport. We were pleased to get to see again Sierra Nevada Corporation, Northrop Grumman, and Agusta/Westland Corporations on the field. Thanks to those PIA grads who stopped us to say hello.
New Airplane
Monday, November 16th, 2009
PIA received a new Beechcraft Debonair A33 last week. It has good paint overall and a decent interior. Students will need to perform work on the engine and panel. Hopefully it will fly with not too much overall work needed. PIA is always looking for decent projects like this. There is no better training aid for our Aviation programs!
Graduation today
Thursday, November 5th, 2009
This afternoon there will be a dual graduation of our Truck Driving Program and our Heavy Equipment program at the Main Campus. Many of these students already have job opportunities. Employers who I talked to are excited to see them start.
Placement in Field in Youngstown
Wednesday, October 28th, 2009
Congratulations to Mr. Null, PIA’s placement department, and all the graduates at the Youngstown-Warren campus. All graduates (100%) in the most recent graduating class have all been placed within their field. If any grads would like to speak to current students or prospective students to relay your story, please contact Mr. Null. via the website portal for grads.
PIA is non profit?
Monday, October 19th, 2009
So how does PIA’s non-profit status help us? We are able to get donations for scholarship programs or for equipment from all of you. PIA is also able to get reasonably priced government surplus equipment (such as engines and airplanes) yet keep costs low relative to competition for incoming students. Thank you for making PIA’s non-profit status matter!

Students Return
Wednesday, October 7th, 2009
We are happy to see our students return today, refreshed from their between-quarter break. It was very quiet at the main campus yesterday. It is invigorating to feel the energy in the school today as we start the next quarter. I’m sure everyone else feels the same!
Recent Television Broadcast
Monday, October 5th, 2009
On October 4th and 5th, Our Region’s Business was broadcast on WPXI and PCNC. One of the stories on this episode featured PIA and our training programs. Although the interview was months ago, the information still holds true about the flourishing Aerospace and Transportation industries. As soon as WPXI posts a link, we will list it below.
Ask the President…
Thursday, October 1st, 2009
If you have any questions about our establishment which you just have a burning desire to get answered, but just can’t figure out who to ask, ask me. I will do my best within the bounds of reason to answer them. Questions like:
Why and how does PIA get its planes?
Ever wanted to know why or how PIA became a non-profit?
Which employee has been at PIA the longest?
Is it true that a Wright brother founded PIA?
When was the PIA logo created and by whom?
and many others.
I look forward to hearing from you!!
